A Simple Skincare Reset for January
A new year is the perfect time to reset your skincare — but it doesn’t have to be complicated.
Before you rush out to buy anything new, start with what you already have. Take a look in your bathroom cupboards and see what you received for Christmas 🎄
Not sure what a product does?
If you don’t know how or when to use a product, don’t open it.
You have a few great options:
Ask me — I’m always happy to help guide you
Gift it to a local women’s refuge or charity (please check what they accept)
Or take it back if that’s an option
Skincare should feel supportive, not stressful.
Keep It Simple – The Basics That Matter
1️⃣ Cleanse – Morning & Evening
Cleansing twice daily is non-negotiable.
Morning: removes sweat, oils and overnight bacteria
Evening: removes makeup, SPF, pollution and daily build-up
Clean skin = skin that can actually benefit from your products.
2️⃣ Exfoliate 2–3 Times Per Week
Start gently. Exfoliation helps:
Remove dead skin cells
Improve texture and glow
Allow products to penetrate better
More is not better — consistency is.
3️⃣ Hydrate Smartly
Opt for lightweight serums rather than heavy moisturisers.
Thick creams often:
Sit on the surface
Block pores
Do very little for the skin long-term 🤷♀️
The exception? SPF moisturisers — they absolutely have their place.
4️⃣ SPF Every. Single. Day.
Minimum SPF 30
Apply daily, even when it’s cloudy
Reapply if you’re fully exposed to UV rays
SPF is the most powerful anti-ageing product you’ll ever use.
5️⃣ Active Ingredients That Work
Vitamin C (morning): helps stimulate your collagen, brightens the skin, protect and defend against signs of ageing including sun damaged skin
Retinol (evening): supports collagen, improves texture and skin renewal, reducing pigmentations and fine lines too
Used correctly, these are skincare game-changers.
