Skin rejuvenation….which treatments?

Skin rejuvenation will always start with skincare, but which in clinic treatments really work and why?

Here are Emma’s top 6 treatments to improve those signs of ageing including fine lines, wrinkles and skin pigmentations

In our opinion (and these are the treatments Emma has regularly)

All of these treatments work at different layers of the skin and are either stimulating collagen, turning over old dead skin cells or replacing volume and stimulating

  • RF micro-needling (3-4 times a year)

  • Profhilo (2-4 times a year)

  • Skin peels ( Two ZO 3-step peels a year and monthly Fillmed peels)

  • Microneedling with skin booster (Every 6-8 weeks)

  • Radiesse (1-2 times a year)

  • PRP (Your own blood/Plasma) with Microneedling or injectable (3 times a year)

RF micro-needling was made famous with Judy Murray back in 2020 having a course of Morpheus 8 and at home Obagi skincare. The Morpheus 8 is RF Microneedling, which we have in the EL skin clinic and Obagi skincare is also available along with the ZO range (also Dr Zein Obagi) in clinic.RF Microneedling treats the skin superficially and deeper at the same time. At Emma Lee skin & aesthetics, a skin booster is also applied to the skin and LED at the end. This way Emma finds that the skin is being stimulated in multi layers. Stimulating heat under the skin with the RF (radio frequency) causes constriction & tightening of the skin, along with precise Microneedling collagen is stimulated. The award winning NCTF is applied to the skin to aid healing and at the end of the treatment the LED light therapy is applied to calm the skin or stimulate collagen depending on skin type. This treatment has little downtime and keeps working under the skin for up to 3-6 months after an initial course of 3 treatments.

Profhilo is injectable moisturiser that is injected under the skin which has long lasting skin cell stimulation in the dermal layer of the skin. 5 injections on either side of face/neck/décolleté area can be treated to improve your skin laxity and firmness of your skin. This treatment gives your skin back its bounce, hydration and youthful look. You can have 2 treatments twice a year or 1 every 3 months… Emma likes 1 treatment to her face & neck every 3 months as she finds it keeps her skin glowing all year round. In particular the lower face & neck loves Profhilo! Emma likes to add Profhilo after the RF Microneedling but you can opt to have separately.

Skin peels are a quick in clinic treatment with amazing results that just get better and better. Emma love the ZO 3-step peel in the winter months and usually have 2-3 a year depending on how bad her pigmentations. Throughout the spring and summer Emma has a lighter peel monthly, to continue with skin renewal & skin brightening with the Fillmed or Alumier peel (these have less downtime but you need more often!)

Microneedling with the award winning skin booster NCTF is a superficial skin treatment, increasing cell turnover by curing tiny controlled trauma to the skin. The trauma caused to the skin stimulates your skin to produce new skin cells and tighten with new collagen & elastin too. Following a course of treatments this is a firm favourite with the skin booster and using your own plasma the skin has growth factors to enhance the healing, improving skin texture, tone and reducing signs of ageing.

Radiesse is an injectable treatment that can smooth out moderate to severe facial wrinkles and replace lost volume in cheeks, folds of the skin and jawline too. Although this is called a filler, it is unlike a dermal filler as this contains ingredients that forms a network fibre of collagen & elastin which smoothes out lines and provides more structure within the skin. This treatment provides results up to 18 months and improves over time. Emma has had this on her cheeks and chin…. Ask her next time to show you results!

PRP using your own blood/plasma is an amazing treatment for those not wanting any other products injected into their skin. Your own blood is taken, spun out in a centrifuge device which it s-aerates and the plasma is drawn off to either inject or combine with skin Microneedling. Plasma can stimulate collagen and elastin production which thickens and tightens the skin. Smoothing fine lines, wrinkles and improving skin texture. By combining plasma with Microneedling the skins healing will be accelerated. Emma has had plasma injected under her eyes to help restore volume loss and fine lines & wrinkles .
