Why Retinol…..

What does retinol do for your skin?
Think Anti-Ageing…..
Retinol increases skin cell production, pushing new skin cells to the surface & dead skin off!
It helps unclog pores, reducing spot or acne breakouts
Retinol increases collagen production, which can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving your skin a fresher, plump appearance
With the increased cellular turnover your skin pigmentations will be reduced, giving you glowing & younger looking skin
There are different strengths of retinol and some that work on the superficial layers of the skin, whilst others go deeper into the skin.
When first starting retinol, or if increasing to the next strength, I recommend the following:
Always use at night time (unless advised otherwise)
Apply Daily power defence or Ultimate boost serum before Retinol to hydrate the skins barrier
Apply week one, 1 night only, to ensure no reactions
Apply 2 nights for 2 weeks, giving 2-3 days break
Apply 3 nights for 3 weeks, alternating days
Book your skin consultation to discuss how you are getting on
If you are struggling to get passed 3 nights then I recommend adding in a hydrating creme or recovery balm, this will enable you to power on through
Always cleanse your skin the next morning, apply yours serums and wear SPF (if your skin feels sensitive or dry, use the towel when drying to get off any dead skin and hydrate a little more than usual)
